So happy it's friday- I'm welcoming the weekend with open arms this week- especially since it's my "Reading Week" next week, although I have a million things to do so not much of a holiday.
It seems everyone is turning 21 at the moment and there's normally one or two parties a week in celebration- will post some photos soon.

For the moment I've got some excited news about Fashion's Night Out coming up for all my readers- stay tuned!

My favourite bubblegum that I always stock up on when I go to France- Malabar!

STYLEFRAME.

Alexander Wang, one of the most anticipated shows this September in New York for the S/S11 collection. Wang surprised us by having a collection with no black -normally his go to colour- with lots of white (even white paint in the models' hair), metallics and rose gold which was to represent duct tape. All white outfits were seen in several other shows across the season, but Wang's shone the brightest as he made a statement with his first ten outfits being head to toe white- and if it doesn't get boring within ten outfit's you know something is working. What looked great were all the different layers, proportions and fabrics which work harmoniously together in each outfit. Oh Alex, you do know how to do it.

Marc's show was all about colour, prints and seventies. The models donned sheer, floating maxi dresses in the richest of pinks, reds and oranges. The collection focused on seventies glamour and satin trousers paired with sheer top were sent down the runway. The prints were on everybody's lips after show- they stood out as every other show had been full of white and neutrals (Marc certainly knows how to make himself stand out)- finally some colour! Whichever look the models were sporting, they each had huge hair and an even bigger hat to complete the look. Form an orderly queue!

Clean lines (part of the minimalism trend) are all the rage for this winter. Think clean cut jackets, simple but sexy dresses and the perfect winter coat. Seen in full force at Stella McCartney- where an all grey outfit has never looked so elegant and been so coveted. Wear your coat with simple colours, such as camel, black or white- keep it neutral. If you want some colour then go for burnt red or orange, nothing that pops. The easiest way to achieve this trend? Get yourself a clean lines grey dress and pair with thick black tights, black boots and a simple jacket and you'll be good to go.

Leather has been an on trend staple for every winter in the past few seasons. But this winter it has a twist: leather skirts, shorts, trousers and even dresses are bang on trend. The jacket has even has an update and is now seen with wool arms- a la Isabel Marant- who has even injected a shot of colour with her unstoppably popular red leather trousers (the shot to fame after being worn by Kate Moss on the cover of Vogue). Leather skirts are focusing on texture- with frays being the most popular- pair with your on trend camel jumper and black tights and your any fashionistas dream come true.

Chunky Knits were big on the Autumn/Winter runways- making special appearances at Dolce and Gabbana and even at Chanel- worn with not much else but big furry boots to accompany the 'ski' look which was being channeled. Back in the real world, (where it's actually cold) the best way to wear your chunky knit it with tights or leggings- so that you can have some shape at the same time as being all cozy in your on trend knit. If you're feeling especially festive- then there's plenty of reindeer/snowflake covered chunky knits for you to choose from, from Topshop to D&G. Pair with your favourite winter boots and hit the cold weather in style.

Here's some recent frames and stylogs I made on Styleframe.com- so much fun doing it!

Remember a while back I was trying to distract myself with inspiration for my new room? Well, this is the result- my new wall of photos (that is a must in any room I occupy) that I'm happy with, my cute little mantelpiece where my shoes live and a few close ups of tins and jewelery.

The SS11 BodyAMR show was all about seduction; with skin tight dresses, sexy Grecian Goddesses and tactful use of draping. Daisy Lowe opened the show in a floor length white dress, which was followed by a mixture of beige, bright blue, turquoise, burnt orange, black and the odd sequin. These colours were applied on materials such as lace, chiffon and sheer fabric. Amber Rose (Kanye West’s girlfriend) also made an appearance in the first print top, after having posed with Egyptian Arms at the beginning of the catwalk to the start of Madonna’s ‘Like A Virgin’.

The hair was messy plait from the small of the neck to the top of the forehead, which fitted the new-Goddess feel, and was accompanied by smoky black eyes.

A great soundtrack played throughout, mimicking the theme and included Prince’s ‘Cream’- perfect to strut down the catwalk to.

I wrote this for Motif

After the show I managed to run backstage and catch a few close ups of the models and Daisy Lowe and Amr having a thank you hug before Daisy had to run off for her next show!

A couple of new items that happen to all look very nice together- I am in love with the dark blue tie-dye ish ness of these trousers that plays off the gold of the belt so well and that I found at a vintage fair, paired with these amazing wedges (it doesn't even feel like you're in heels).
Full photos on their way!

Akila's work is amazing- and this editorial proves just how good it is, how she can have nudity without it being crude or unnecessary. I love the red hair against the almost black and white background of the rocks. The all leopard outfit has to be my favourite!
