You can never go wrong with balloons.

Some random bits of bobs from fashion week (my one day cray).
Note the amazing shoes at Antipodium, Marques' Almeida and Sibling.

Little snippets of what I've been up to- apart from running from one show to another (I
arrived at Antipodium in a sexy sweat, having run from the Sibling show) last Saturday.
Going to Columbia Road Flower Market is still my go-to Sunday activity- although last
week I'm pretty sure I stayed in bed most of the day, 6 days of work in a row took its toll.
The sunshine has actually shone in London, even though the weather is freezing it still
makes everything better. The new Illamasqua speckle nail varnishes are great and make
me think I have ten Mini Eggs at the ends of my fingers.

BLUE.LASH.

Photobucket

My favourite photo of mine from backstage at Antipodium.
You can really see the eight hour cream shine on the eyelids and the jolt of blue
mascara.
I want to start wearing blue mascara again- remember those 'hair mascaras' that were
around in the 90s? Well, I want to feel like I'm 10 again.

The best show ever. In one of my favourite backstage settings- the Portico Rooms are on the
second floor of Somerset House so they always have great light- the Marques' Almeida show
was held. I was very lucky to be invited backstage with MAC. I've been a long time fan of
Marques' Almeida duo (if you're a Tumblr fiend like me then you'll no doubt recognise
the ripped denim and chunky plastic shoe look) and having recently become part of the
Topshop NEWGEN for AW13 I'm sure things will just keep getting bigger and better for
them.

Back to backstage- MAC created an amazing pink eye with three different liners (one of
which was lip) but left a space free of make up just underneath the eye so that it didn't
become a smoky look, going for grungy rather than sexy. The back half of the hair was in a
tight, neat and poker straight ponytail whilst the front was messy and gelled with a middle
parting. Very grunge chic.

The cobalt blue fur, open backs and ripped open flares (which created a kind of hoof look)
were my favourite aspects. Well done Marta and Paulo!

You can see peeks of the other shows I was at and what I was up to on my Twitter and Instagram.

It may seem to you that my stock of photos from Corsica is never ending. And you'd be
right. Corsica is one of the most beautiful places I've been to. Mountains, beaches and
sunshine. It kind of makes everything photogenic. Here, two of my favourite beaches--
Mare Sol, which has great cafes with those beautiful fabrics covering them, plus the
famous Santa Giulia beach which is always quite busy but really is worth it.

With the bright pink bougainvillea flowers everywhere I thought I could somehow string
this into Valentines. Red drinks and pink flowers is Valentines Day right?
This is certainly where I'd like to be.

Life recently via social media portals. Big loves: Dim Sum, Alpro Soya and Illamasqua's
new speckle nail varnish. Working: in beautiful offices, with lots of products = impossible
not to spend half the day instagramming (for me anyway). Plus discovering Kaleidacam
and finally giving into buying Muji jumpers (to go with my sheets and stationary).
Still in a deep passionate relationship with all things Aesop, COS and the Tate Modern
magazine stock.

P.S. check out this very interesting article about why we record our day to day life- mostly
so that we feel all the little things we do have a purpose and so you feel prouder of your
time. Sound familiar?

This months inspiration. Might have to add a couple jackets here and there.
Loving simple, well tailored looks with a dash a skater chic.

Yes, that's actually a word and not just a clever title. Phototropism.

Growing towards the light. Positive phototropism.
Which perfectly sums up the meaning of these photographs of nature.
Photos of tropical climates. I took these all in Corsica last August.
I miss the sunshine- I think I have phototropism.

Don't want to blend in to the background.

I started my internship at Vogue today. I'm in the beauty department so I thought this post
would link well. It's great to finally be working in Vogue House - I've wanted this since I
was 15 years old.

FRIDAY PHOTOGRAPHERS

Cara Stricker, the amazing Australian born photographer who's work captures intimate
portraits of (fellow Aussies) Bambi and Rachel Rutt, to name but a few.
I like her work because although she would be called a 'fashion' photographer, her work
seems very natural and organic. Of course the clothes are featured, but the focus is always
on the girl wearing them and her environment. It's like the photograph is the conversation
between photographer and the photographed.
