I will aways remember my mother telling my sister and I that if only we wore less make up,
we would have better skin (this was in our teenage years, and sadly we weren't blessed with
our mother's seemingly pore-less complexion). It angered us to no end as we tried to explain
to her that make-up was not bad. 'Make up isn't tar anymore Mum!' we used to say. And
indeed it wasn't, but I'm sure a little less drugstore concealer wouldn't have done any harm,
Fast forward ten years and things have really changed in the make-up game. Skin is very
much in and thanks to google and a plethora of beauty websites, even teenagers can learn
what will/won't help their skin. But at the end of the day, we all still like having that bit of
coverage to perfect our look. The biggest problem I've found now (post teenage years!) is
my eye area, and how dark circles can creep up on you.
Bobbi Brown first introduced their Intensive Skin Serum Foundation earlier this year, to
such a 'hooray!' that they are now releasing an Intensive Skin Serum Corrector and
Concealer to use alongside each other. The corrector aims to neutralise discolouration under
the eyes while the concealer (to be layered on top of the corrector) lightens, brightens and
even out skin tone.
I love how lightweight the products are, and how they feel more like actual serum than
make-up. You can thank the Indian Mukul Myrrh Tree Extract for plumping the skin
and diminishing wrinkles, while the make up side does the covering.
Skincare now has make up in, and make-up now has skincare in. That is 2015.
With such great technology and science at our fingertips, it'd be a shame not to use it in
the beauty world, too.
The two new products will be available 30th August here in Australia.
