GO EASY.

Delicate jewellery and minimal nails – a how to.
I’m one of those people who loves the idea of minimalism (in all senses of the word, not just
fashion but the state of mind: less stuff = a clearer mind). I’m also one of those people to
whom it does not come naturally, I look at Ivania’s blog and sigh – how did she strip it back
so much without it becoming boring? I recently discovered Into Mind, a website who’s aim is
to help you become more inimal in daily life, with great tips and even spreadsheets to help
you minimalise you wardrobe, beauty regime, home and everything in between.
My point is: I strive to be minimal (for example I only wear black, white, grey, navy and
denim) and yet there’s something very unattainable about being a minimalist. But I’m still
trying, so do join me on this journey.
What I’ve discovered recently is minimal hands: barely-there jewellery and barely-
there manicures. You might be thinking, surely the most minimal is nothing at all? And
whilst this can be true, having nothing is almost avoiding a style and is not necessarily
minimal. So, at the moment I’m opting for a thin rings and dainty bracelets that can be
seen but don’t shout Look At Me!!
I must admit I had left my nails bare to match my all white outfit, and it was Nella
from Nail Polish Addicts Anonymous who kindly gave me a minimal-maincure with
just a light sparkle on my nails. It’s there, but it’s not there.
It catches your eye by catching the light. The lesson learned here: go easy, don’t ignore
and area, just don’t over-do it.
