CHEEK TO CHIC.

Giving the Charlotte Tilbury make-up a whirl and rediscovering the pleasure of beauty.

I’ve been coveting all things Charlotte Tilbury since she first launched her remarkable line of
make-up just over two years ago. I’d seen countless images of the beautiful packaging (all
deep maroon and rose gold, very old school Hollywood feel), the luscious colours of
the lipsticks and innovative colour palettes. When I found out that it’s now available in
Australia, too, I decided now was my chance.

But really it’s no surprise it’s done so well, Charlotte’s experience within the fashion industry
as a make-up artist (she’s probably done 80% of the Vogue covers you ever seen) and her
ability to create powerful, confident women is second to none.

While trying it out, all the steps felt new and improved somehow, like I was really doing this
for me and enjoying every moment of applying my make-up. (NB I love putting on make-up,
but when you end up doing it in a rush everyday it’s easy to forget the pleasure it can bring).
So I took my time, playing around with these new toys, as it were.

Charlotte grew up in Ibiza and loves that dewy, bronzed glow – and this was the image
I had in mind when creating this look.
I applied the Magic Cream to begin, used a light base, then Cheek to Chic in The Climax
powder on my cheekbones and on my eyelids, the Brow Lift (in Cara D – I love the names!)
the Beach Stick in Las Salinas on the apple of my cheek an inner corners of my eyes and

finished it off with the Matte Revolution in Red Carpet Red on my lips.

The products – beach stick and powder in particular – felt very multi use, which is something
I love with make up. Being able to apply the bronzer to both my cheeks and lids not only
means the colour on my face work together but gives the whole thing a certain ease while
still remaining luxurious. I can imagine using the beach stick pretty much everywhere
come summer – cheeks, lids and lips!
