Perfume: the gift that keeps on giving.
I always remember being given my first – and favourite – perfume for Christmas as a little
girl, and how each year I would look forward to opening it – for the fresh new box, smell
and excitement. I love the idea of giving someone that same excitement as their new scent,
and for them to think of you each time they wear it.
In the first part of my gift guide for 2015, I thought I would focus on perfume tempt you
with some new additions to the (dressing) table for you to give to loved ones – or maybe
even yourself – this year.
Feminine, romantic, delicate. This is for a true girly girl who likes her scent as soft as
her touch. This scent works well when layered, too (I mean, why wear one perfume
when you can wear two?)
YSL Black Opium
The modern rock chic, this scent is a shot of vodka adrenaline for all courageous
and confident women.
It looks and smells like it should be on the set of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette,
with the soundtrack of I Want Candy blaring in the background. Well, that’s what I
imagine every time I use it anyway.
Jasmine and neroli are a favourite mix of mine, and this new scent transports me to a
warm evening on the Mediterranean. Perfect for summer.
Tom Ford Venetian Bergamot
Rich florals, precious woods, warm spices. Capturing the scent of the sun drenched citrus
you’re transported to the Grand Palazzos, Venice. If elegance could be bottle, this is it.
