MAURITIUS PHOTO DIARY
Having a tropical Christmas time on the edge of the Indian Ocean…In many ways Mauritius reminds me of Bali. Not the culture or the look of things necessarily,
more in the awe you get when you arrive: The photos WERE true! The water IS that blue! The
sunsets THAt pink!
I spent 10 days there for Christmas and New Year with my family – it’ll certainly go down
as one of the most beautiful locations thus far! Since it was Christmas I spent most of the
time catching up with my family and enjoying being in their presence, cooking big meals
and enjoying evening drinks..!However, we did venture out to the Botanical gardens at Pamplemousses (the name of a town,
which translates as Grapefruits) which was incredibly beautiful, and good to see something
other than beaches. We also made it to Ile aux Cerfs / Deer Island. An easy day trip, you get the
boat out and spend all day on the tiny island (and the one opposite, just a swim away) swimming,
eating, drinking Pina Coladas…

Here’s my photo diary where hopefully I can impart some of the beauty from this magical
place to your screen….
There’s also a video at the bottom of this post!
No points for guessing where the name Roches Noires (Black Rocks) comes from…
On the boat trip to Ile aux Cerfs we saw the incredible Shangri La resort, Tousserok
Sunday Somewhere glasses, Vamastyle playsuit
