FROM THE INSIDE OUT.
Four easy steps to achieving IRL radiant, glowing skin.
I’ve worked in the beauty industry coming up four years now (from being a beauty editor in
London to a photographer in Sydney) and the biggest thing I’ve learned/been asked about
is that everyone wants to know how to get “the glow”. Articles and articles have and will
be written about this mysterious thing.
“The Glow” is a coveted radiance in your skin. It’s not layers and layers of highlighter
(although a little dab never hurt no one) it’s a more natural, lit-from-within, healthy,
happy glow.
And that description says it all: from within, healthy, happy. Our diet, health and happiness
do all in fact impact the way our skin looks. And this is nothing new of course, but it’s a
fact that most people want to gloss over – they want the quick fix – but it takes time to get your skin
into shape. And don’t worry, I’m not about to tell you that you need to work out for 2 hours a
day and only eat green and purple vegetables – no way! Eating well (five a day) and some
form of exercise 2-3 times a week is just dandy. (I may live in Bondi, but you can’t take
London out of this girl…)
So I thought I would give you my biggest easy-to-do tips for getting the glow:
1. Use a chemical exfoliant, this, this and this are my favourites. No dead skin cells =
better chance of a glow.
2. Use an oil before applying your makeup, it’ll keep you dewy all day.
3. Don’t use a thick foundation. I love BB creams and tinted moisturisers. I recently
started using the new Maestro Glow from Giorgio Armani. It’s lightweight and glow
inducing.
4. If you don’t want a spoon of apple cider vinegar everyday, try the Beauty Chef.
Focusing on inner health (in particular, that of your digestive system) to create outer
beauty the products are full of all the right kinds of probiotics, nutrients and enzymes
your body needs. I’ve been having a glass of the Glow powder everyday and it tastes
like delicious berries.
