HOWLITA.
Our first stop in Tulum…
The first place we stayed on our arrival in Tulum was Howlita. Situated in the town rather than
by the beach, it was the perfect place to understand how Tulum is laid out (one main strip in
town with just ONE road that leads to another strip along the beach) and taste all the amazing
local food (being sold at local price, rather than tourist at the beach price).
The hotel itself is understated but very chic. I think I picked up so many interior design tips
here! From the navy walls next to dark wood furniture to the hanging clothes rack… it was gorgeous.
We rented bikes from the hotel most of the days which meant we could cycle to the beach (a
good 20 minutes away) or cycle around the town, discovering new places to find our ice coffee
or the best tacos in town before heading back covered in sweat to lounge by the pool.
Beauty Notes
Alongside taking my Aesop minis Jetset pack, I also loved the mini Oribe Gold Lust Oil to
keep my hair from drying out in the salt and sun, I applied it both to wet and dry hair.
When it’s hot, I don’t want to wear a full face of makeup so instead I opted for the Sensai
Bronzing Gel to give me a helping hand in the tanned and glowin department, and Eyeko
Sport Waterproof mascara won’t smudge the second you go in the water. Both are also really
well priced!
