BEST OF 2017.

The nine skincare products I got addicted to this year.

Tatcha Water Cream
I only started using this at the end of November, so this product made the list in the nick of time. But it didn’t take me long to fall in love with it. Not only does the packaging alone deserve an award (that’s a golden spoon in the lid so you can hygienically scoop product out each day) it’s also oil free, absorbs immediately (no greasy skin) and is packed full of Japanese wild rose, leopard lily and green tea, rice and algae which all work together to give you the closest to poreless skin you will ever have. HERE

Nuxe Nuxellence eye contour
Looking after my eyes has become paramount over the past few years, as this is the time (late twenties) that you’ll start to see those ever-so-fine crows feet coming into play. Using passionflower extracts and hyaluronic acid, I find this product really gentle on the eye and love the metal applicator which cools (even cooler if you keep it in the fridge for those puffy eyed mornings) the fragile skin around the eye, and can even be used to minimise frown lines, too. HERE

Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant
This year was the year of the mask for me. I realised I could use several a week and the difference it made to my skin was huge. The Masque Vivant smells like marmite and looks like marmite, but I promise you it isn’t. Its key ingredient is lactic acid that helps reduce acne breakouts and minimise water loss in the skin. It’s also rich in antioxidants to purify the epidermis, regulate oil secretion and unclog and tighten pores. Sound too good to be true? I couldn’t agree more. HERE.

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask
Continuing on my mask-obsessed year with my Sunday night go to mask for that ‘instant glow’ look. Using pomegranate enzymes mixed with pink French clay, it deeply cleanses the skin and pores of impurities will removing dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. This is the product that got me hooked on all things Tata Harper in 2017. HERE.

Tan Luxe Sleep Oil
I used to always be slightly afraid of tanning products. As much as I didn’t want to be quite so pale in the winter months (and struggled to get my face to match the colour of my body in summer) I was terrified fake tan would make me look orange and fake. Enter Tan Luxe. They took my spray tanning virginity and when I saw I looked more ‘been in Italy for the weekend’ than ‘been in Bali for 4 months’ I knew I had at long last found the tanning brand for me. The Sleep Oil is the miraculous product of which I use 2/3 drops of at night to give me a healthy looking glow. No streaks, no smell, no problem! HERE.

Sunday Riley Luna
This year a facialist told me that I should in fact stop using retinol. She said that for my skin type it didn’t seem to be effective and she would be able to do more extractions in our sessions if the skin was less sensitised and thin. I removed the Differin which I had been trialling from my regime and replaced it with the Luna Sleeping Night Oil. This product uses a derivative of trans-retinoic acid which gives you similar results to retinol (minimised pores, prevention of wrinkles, boosted elasticity) without the harsh side effects. HERE.

Skinceuticals Serum 10
The product I start my skincare off with every single day. This serum helps to reinforce the skin natural protection against free radicals (pollution, smoke, stress…) throughout the day thanks to it’s mix of Vitamin C and antioxidants. I’ve used other one’s like this before, but often I find they’re too strong for my sensitive skin. This one is made specifically for sensitive skin types or if you’re wanting to slowly introduce these ingredients into your skincare regime. HERE.

Oskia Nutri Active Day cream
2017 was the year probiotics and prebiotics came into mainstream skincare, and Oskia includes them in every single product. Why? Just as we know probiotics help our gut with friendly bacteria, it’s important to do the same on the skin’s surface. Having them in our skincare helps maintain a healthy outer layer of skin. I have really sensitive skin and using this has made a huge difference to how sensitised my skin in after being exposed to pollution, sunlight and using AHA’s. This cream uses them alongside vitamins, omegas, copper, magnesium, zinc and even peptides to make sure your skin is ready to take on the day. HERE.

Avène Antirougeurs mask
Yes, another mask. This one is for relieving any redness or soreness in the skin. The Calm Soothing Repair mask does just what it says. Using the natural minerals from the Avène Eau Thermale, it also has an amazing thick texture which for me makes my skin feel safe and looked after if it’s inflamed or irritated. HERE.
