I’ve spoken my fair share about combination skin in the past. It’s perhaps the trickiest skin type to have (and no doubt what spurred my interest in skincare to begin with) as you fall under every category – oily in some areas, but dry in others. And while I’ve been told before to use different products on different areas of the face – even I draw the line at that.
Enter the new Aquabella range from Nuxe. Aiming to put an end to the eternal dilemma of combination skin, the products combine white waterlily and hyaluronic acid to give the skin a boost of hydration – adding plumpness in dehydrated areas and clearing the complexion in oily areas – all with a matte finish.
The range includes a facial cleansing gel, an essence lotion and moisturising emulsion. Working perfectly as a three step regime, the Purifying Gel cleanser removes impurities and excess sebum without drying the skin. The Essence-Lotion feels nourishing and fresh on the skin, while also tightening pores. If I’m using it as a toner, I’ll apply it to a cotton pad, but sometimes I like to also drop some into my hand and press it into the skin for some added hydration. And last but certainly not least, the Moisturising Emulsion is perhaps the most impressive as it contains Nuxe’s new patented Natural Blur Complex which smooths and mattifies the skin – before you’ve even put makeup on. And it’s not the kind of four layers of powder matte, rather a fresh, healthy glow matte – which I favour over a shiny, oily combination skin look any day.
