HELLO HONEY.

No, not the recipe for an at home mask. But that little pot of honey we may have in our kitchen cupboards does indeed have it’s skincare benefits and is why so many brands use it’s natural powers within their products. Naturally high in antioxidants, it is also antibacterials and also very gentle and soothing on the skin and full of nourishing enzymes and proteins.

It’s been used for years on skin and recently there seems to have been a resurgence of products making the most of it’s skin loving properties. I’ve listed some of my favourite products that harness it’s power below.

MAY LINDSTROM THE HONEY MUD
perhaps the most satisfying product to use, this enzyme cleanse and mask is a creamy texture that uses active enzymes and raw honey to calm blemishes, plus a dose of halloysite clay removes impurities from the skin. I love that you can use it as a cleanser (by thoroughly massaging it into the skin) or leave it on for 10 minutes to get the benefits of the mask. HERE

NEAL’S YARD REMEDIES BODY CREAM
Nothing feels as nourishing and indulgent as this body butter. Made with organic honey from Mexico and shea butter it’s really gentle and soothing on the skin – perfect for this time of year. HERE

ORIGINS CHARCOAL AND HONEY MASK
This product uses fermented honey to nourish the skin mixed with charcoal to purify your pores. What I love about this is that it doesn’t dry down completely, so it doesn’t dry out the skin at all. My skin feels nourished and clean after I use it and that’s why it’s become one of my favourite masks to use each week. HERE

GUERLAIN ABEILLE ROYALE DOUBLE R SERUM
A new addition to the Abeille Royale range, the new serum manages to both repair and renew the skin. Using a bottle with two chambers that houses, one one side – Royal Jelly from the Guerlain black bees along with the TIEG gene with helps your skin produce more of it’s own natural hyaluronic acid and acid. The other side, you have a gentle AHA to resurface and renew the skin. They’ve placed them separately for the freshest and most active ingredients each time you use it. Yep, all that in one product. If you’re after a multi tasker for glowing skin this is your guy. HERE

LIZ EARLE DEEP CLEANSING MASK
As the name might suggest – great for a deep clean on combination or oily skin. The mask uses green clay, Manuka honey and propolis (aka ‘bee glue’ that is extremely healing to the skin) to draw out impurities from the pores while still nourishing the skin. HERE

FRESH BEAUTY CREME ANCIENNE HONEY MASK
Made with pure honey that melts straight into the skin, this mask is great for hydration. It’s a very unique texture that helps your skin absorb and retain more moisture which equals, plumper, bouncier skin all day. Who wouldn’t want that? HERE

RODIAL BEE VENOM EYE CREAM
Bee venom? Oh yes. This extreme performance eye cream isn’t messing around when it says it’s going to rid you of wrinkles around your eyes. It does this by using the venom to stimulate the blood circulation in the area to plump out the appearance of any lines. It works together with vitamin C, plants cells and haloxyl to lessen sign of sun damage and dark circles. If you’ve never found the product to tackle those lines, this is it. HERE

JO MALONE HONEYSCUKLE & DAVANA CANDLE
Ok, so yes, technically not skincare – but just had to add this new launch from Jo Malone is because – honey smells delicious and so should your home. Blended with some woody notes, it’s perfect to feel warm and cosy inside this winter. HERE
