FAST LIVING, SLOW AGING.
In the digital age, we are living progressively fast lives – we’re always connected and therefore available – and when you’re in a city like London, add the need to be constantly ‘busy’ to the mix and you’ll most likely burn out.
That’s why I really loved the sound of /skin regimen/ when I was first introduced to it. It’s all about skincare for those with with an urban, fast-paced lifestyle, which is beginning to show in their skin. Yes that’s right – your skin can be ‘stressed’ too. How?
It’s easy to forget just how much of our lifestyle impacts our skin. Where we live, how we eat, what our habits are and the high levels of stress so often present in daily life these days all add up. All these stressors impact the cells on our skin, causing them to break down and not allow them to function properly. Psychological stress can even cause our body to produce hormones, which in turn affects our skin. Crazy right?
Skin cortisol overproduction is common place, and it is that which most makes us look tired, fuels inflammation and oxidation – meaning the whole aging process is sped up.
The /skin regimen/ products work to repair and protect the skin from these stressors as they all include the Longevity Complex™ which is made up of 3 superfoods (spinach, maqui berry and wild indigo) and carnosine for an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory action to help repair and protect the skin from stress. Plus, the products smell great, which is a natural de-stressor. A deep breath is always welcome.
MY TOP 3 PRODUCTS
Enzymatic Powder
a wonderful way to gently exfoliate and brighten the skin, this powder turns into a paste when mixed with a few drops of water. I love using this as a second cleanse to make sure my skin is properly clean and fresh.
Microalgae Essence
a highly concentrated lotion that rebalances the skin. I love applying this after cleansing to hydrate and soothe the skin.
1.85 HA Booster
a concentrate of 3 molecular forms of hyaluronic acid (which means it can hydrate at several levels of the skin) It’s deeply hydrating and plumping. I use this after the essence, morning and night.
I’ve also been loving the anti pollution cleansing cream and tripeptide cream. My skin and my mind have felt – and looked – a lot calmer and balanced since I started using all of these.
What made me love the brand even more is that /skin regimen/ focuses on sustainability. It wants to look after the environment while it looks after your skin. The packaging is made of glass, aluminium and certified paper – this means it’s CO2 neutral, while also being the most wonderful quality and looks damn chic on your dresser. This is so important to me, and something I struggle to find in beauty brands, so that fact that they are aware and working to reduce impact on the environment through their packaging, materials and waste gets a gold star from me. After all, this is how all brands should be and will have to be in the future.
