AUSTRALIA ON FILM.

Always holding a special place in my heart, Australia is somewhere I love going back to. I lived there for 2 years in 2014 and can’t believe how fast the past 3 years back in London have gone. This was my second time back since I left, and it’s always a great excuse to leave chilly London in January for the sunny shores of Aus.

I lived in Sydney when I was there so of course had to visit, but also went to visit my wonderful friend Olive in Byron for a week. We shot most of the below on a stormy morning at 6am. We had hoped for a pink-sky sunrise but I actually kind of love the stormy look on film. It gives the photos more character.

On my last day in Sydney I did the Bondi to Bronte walked and had a dip in the Bronte rock pool (my favourite after Icebergs, but this one is public / free) and used up the rest of my film there.

There’s always such beautiful light in Australia, and in fact it was during my time there that I decided to forgo journalism and go into photography, a jump I’m so happy I made – now 4 years later.

These were all shot on my Olympus mju II, using Kodak 400 film. I hope you enjoy.
