NATURAL HEROES.

Harnessing the power of natural ingredients has been something Kiehl’s has done for years (they first used Calendula petals in the 60s) but it doesn’t mean they’re not going to keep updating how best they can extract the power of the natural ingredients, nor the best way for the ingredients to be delivered into the skin. So I’m very happy to have teamed up with them to tell you about some new launches from Kiehl’s that have become my natural heroes. I think so often with natural (I’ve found, anyway) the products aren’t effective – and that’s what I look for the most in skincare: results.

I am a huge fan of water creams for my combination skin, and the new Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream is also so soothing to the skin thanks to its inclusion of Calendula. Calendula has been proven to reduce irritation, too, which I love for my sensitive skin – especially in summer. (Kiehl’s started including Calendula petals in the product as early as the 1960s, showing how ahead of the game they’ve always been when it comes to natural products.) The product is immediately hydrating and refreshing and leaves the skin with a dewy finish – my favourite of course! I also love how it feels so fresh on the skin upon application, and gets rid of the tight, dry feeling. I like using this one in the morning.

For the evening, another new product I’m really excited about is the Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream – which has 99.6% naturally derived ingredients – and which is my current glow to. It uses Manuka Honey which is certified for purity and potency and is a wonderful natural antioxidant that helps fortify the skin barrier (yes, I’m talking about skin barrier again, but seriously it’s so important for having healthy skin!) It also uses Korean Red Ginseng Root which is an ancient botanical that has been used for thousands of years in Asian medicine, and the Keihl’s chemists chose it for its renewing powers – aka it gives your smooth, glowing skin. I also am really impressed by the packaging for this cream (see GIF below) to keep all the ingredients as protected and active as possible – so clever!

I’m always really conscious of how dehydrated my skin gets, even with all my serums and water I’m still always told my skin could do with more hydration, and so to remedy this I love using masks to boost my moisture levels. Probably one of my all time favourite Kiehl’s products over the years has been the Avocado Creamy Eye Treatment, and so I’m very excited that there is now an Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask! We all love to eat avocados for their essential fatty acids and omegas, and it’s much the same reason the superfood is great to apply topically to the skin too. The mask uses both the avocado fruit extract and avocado oil to help moisturise and nourish the skin, plus Evening Primose oil and Squalane to stop the moisture from escaping the skin. You only need leave the mask on for 15 minutes (warm it up in your hands before applying to the skin) so it works as both a morning or night mask and since it’s so natural you can use it as often as you want.
