STIMULATING INGREDIENTS FOR HAIR + BODY.
Stimulate your body and hair just how you stimulate your face with skincare. For me, getting good results when it comes to any skincare is using the right ingredients and methods – but often we think this applies only to the skin on our face. There are actually some great body, hair and scalp products out there with impressive ingredient lists to get a real result in body and hair care.
MONPURE scalp and haircare range
key ingredients: Retinol, Vitamin B5, AHAs, Shea Butter, Keratin
all those ingredients – in haircare? Oh yes! Monpure are the scalp and hair health experts and know that healthy hair comes from looking after your scalp, not just the ends of your hair. The health of the scalp affects the growth and retention of the hair, so looking after it is paramount and their products all have active ingredients in – vegan, Peta certified and dermatologically tested – to make our scalp the happiest it’s ever been, for the fullest, thickest, healthiest hair possible!
The Hydrate and Soothe Scalp Serum, Nourish and Stimulate Mask and Clarifying Scalp Scrub have been my favourites – as I see such an immediate effect.
Used in conjunction with the Shampoo & Conditioner, the scrub sloughs away dead skin with gentle biodegradable jojoba beads and deeply nourishes with Shea Butter. if you’ve never scrubbed your scalp before – I highly recommend! – it’s a super satisfying experience, and I find it helps reduce the itchiness and irritation I get on my scalp from time to time. The Serum I use on wet hair (although it can be used on dry hair too) to help nourish and balance the skin of the scalp, it does this with Pro Vitamin B5 and witch hazel to reduce inflammation and any signs of eczema, dry skin, acne or general stress. HERE
I’ve always been worried about putting any kind of moisturising ingredient on my scalp as I have such thin, easily oily hair and don’t want to have to wash it all the time, so I was apprehensive before trying the Nourish and Stimulate Mask – but honestly it was nourishing rather than super greasy! Full of vitamins to feed the hair follicles, I put it on at the start of a bath and washed it off at the end and my scalp was very happy about it! HERE
AUGUSTINUS BADER
key ingredients: TFC8 technology, shea butter
having created the TFC8 technology that helps repair each cell to its healthiest – and therefore, most supple and dewy – potential – every AB product is infused with it. Doctor Bader originally created it for burn victims, but with such skin rejuvenation potential and his clients coming back to him to ask for more even when their wounds had healed, he knew he was onto something.
It is expensive but honestly, it’s incredible impressive. Reducing the appearance of wrinkles, acne, cellulite and pigmentation alike. They began with the face cream and now have body products available too, namely the Oil, Lotion and Cream.
DRY BRUSHING
okay so not technically an ingredient, but it’s certainly stimulating! I love doing this for a minute or two from toe to chest in sweeping motions to help stimulate the circulation and get everything flowing better in the body – which means better absorption of products, release of toxins and healthy, glowing skin. It’s also one of the only practices I’ve ever found to actually have an effect on cellulite.

LA ROCHE POSAY

a minimalist formula that helps combat relief to very dry skin – even eczema – and reduce flare ups.
