MALLORCA ON FILM.

My first time visiting Mallorca, and it was perhaps the most perfect place to visit after a year of no travel abroad. I was craving ocean, sunshine and rest – and it’s exactly what it gave me.

It’s  a small island so we started in Deià which is a small town in the mountains on the West coast. I booked a hotel called Sa Pedrissa, and it was even better than I had hoped. We had the most incredible ocean view and it felt appropriately magical. When we first arrived it took me 2 days to really realise I was actually here, after fretting so much that it wouldn’t happen due to restrictions etc, it felt surreal to actually be in this beautiful place and it be as wonderful as I could have hoped, if not more.

After 3 nights there we drove about an hour to the South West coast and stayed in Porto Colom. Our hotel wasn’t the same level of luxury as before, but had everything we needed and a little kitchen to use which was actually lovely to make my own food again after a few days of only eating out. Though I find it nice to stay at one fancier place on a trip, it doesn’t have to be the whole time. The hotel was very well situated however on the rocks to the ocean, just round the corner from Cala Marsal and it made for wonderful mornings swims going down the ladder into the deep ocean.

The beaches this side of the island are magical – quite surreal actually! They are all ‘cala’ which means creek and have the most incredibly turquoise water, from sandy beach to the rocks you can jump off. I felt so grateful I was able to travel safely.

I will definitely be retuning  to explore more of Mallorca, and hope you enjoy my photo diary below.
